The first half of the day was simply we spent for journey by Saturday noon all we joined together at small town in Udupi and we would pick up Rajendra a local village member as guide and then head to his village. After a bumpy ride we ended our Jeep drive in small hamlet where our trek would be starts. It was a small village composed by only a few houses, in the village we would see the village life and we met Rajendr's family members. We did finally start to hike it around 2PM all thirteen of us were then to hike Hullumudi Mountain.

If you know the history of the temple & rituals being followed before visiting you will really enjoy the trip.Early morning dharsan (Vishvaroopam) is wonderfull. It is very nice to watch ARADHANAS performed during various rituals. The oil lamps burning during morning puja time is very nice to see. If you happens to visit when there is minimum crowd & able to see the rituals you will feel that there is a relief to your mind from everything. Don't miss to have food inside the temple which is simple but tasty.

Maravanthe is one of the best beaches i have seen...the sea is just amazing and what is more interesting is the river alongside the road parallel to the beach....the river water is fresh water whereas the sea is salty..another of natures beautiful examples...i like it best in the monsoons when the sea is rough and angry and you can enjoy the coconut water on the beach. The beach is awesome and worth to visit. If you are anytime driving to Goa from Mangalore, this is place is must to see. The sunset is beautiful. A perfect place to spend a quiet evening, watching the sunset and sipping tea...!!!

It is a rocky beach, not as smooth as Malpe. But a great place to just chill on the beach for the whole day. The boats that drop you give one hour to spend on the island, you can always talk to them that you want to spend a day, and they generaly oblige. We paid around 300 for up and down from Malpe beach and back, for two adults and one child. It is good to carry adequeate food, water medicine and other basic necessities as almost nothing is available on the island. If one is interested in collecting small smooth stones its a great place. We found a lot of them - interesting shapes. Carry umbrellas - large ones. It gets very hot during the day. The evenings are pleasent. As we went in october the weather was generally good. Summer may not be a good time to visit.
