Suralu Palace

The Suralu Palace, located 27 km from Udupi and 15 km from Brahmavara, is a historical gem reflecting the legacy of the Tolaha dynasty. Built around 1500 CE, this palace was once the royal residence of the Tolaha rulers, vassals under the Barkur rulers and later the Vijayanagar Empire. It stands as the only surviving mud palace among the twelve constructed by Jain rulers in the 15th century, embodying over 600 years of Karnataka’s rich heritage.
